The Avril family has been in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1600, with the first vintage of Clos des Papes in 1896, created by Paul Avril's great-grandfather. Entering the estate at the age of 26, Paul Avril passed on the tradition of quality to his son Paul-Vincent in 1988. The latter continues to produce great wines for aging without giving in to plot selections, offering a single quality of reds (90% of production) and 10% white, making each bottle unique thanks to a harmonious blend of grape varieties and terroirs.
