L'Aphrodisiaque LV19 (base 2019) is David Léclapart's rarest and most mystical cuvée. Unlike the estate's other cuvées, this one is a blend (approximately 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir) made from vines cultivated using fully biodynamic methods. It is a "living" Champagne, vinified without compromise, without fining, without filtration, and of course, without added sugar (Pas Dosé). This wine is the result of masterful aging in oak barrels, which gives it an enveloping, almost oily texture that David Léclapart describes as "fleshy." On the nose, it's a festival of roasted yellow fruits, citrus zest, and oriental spices, all carried by a chalky minerality that bursts forth on the finish. It is an emotional Champagne, complex and wild, which requires time and attention to reveal all its secrets.
